QR Codes Ready To Go
Friday, June 24, 2011
QR (Quick Response) codes are all the rage these days, in the real estate business as much as any other. This is unsurprising, given the breakneck pace at which mobile technologies continue to be adopted by all walks of life.
QR codes are used to reveal more information about a product, service, event or person. They direct the scanning device to a specific URL, video, coupon, event page, email address, or other digital signpost with more details and content. To scan a QR code, all a consumer needs is a mobile device with a camera and an app to interpret the data in the code.
We made it a point to listen to what you had to say about them. We determined with your input that providing QR codes for both agents and listings seemed to be the most logical and useful to the consumer. We see these things everywhere...on sign riders, brochures, buildings, t-shirts (no kidding). How might you use them? That's up to you and your imagination.
In keeping with our philosophy on providing you, the CWS family, continued product enhancements, we'd like to introduce you to Total QR on our broker websites. If you are a client using the CWS Broker Mobile product with the latest enhancements, QR features are currently being rolled out to you at no charge.
- Administrators and agents using the Property Maintenance module can easily generate, print, and save a QR code that will instruct the scanning device to go directly to a listing on the associate mobile site - and if you have an agent-branded mobile site, the QR code can easily be generated in such a way that the listing appears in your agent-branded site.
- QR Codes will appear on printable brochures for listings
- Agents, at their option, can generate a QR code that will take one of several actions. The code can then be printed, and will be displayed in the agent's public profile on the main website.
